Lazy Week

This week has been a pretty poor excuse for a week of training. The day after a race normally try to get some active recovery, usually by riding to work with a fairly high cadence and low effort, just to get the legs spinning. However, this week, after the GBH committed on my ribs by my handlebars on sunday, I decided (or atleast decided I had an excuse) to have a couple of days off.

Wednesday morning I had a gentle warm up to see how the rib coped followed by 1 high gear 3 minute seated hill climb followed by three 3 minute standing sprint intervals. I felt pretty good so hopefully the 2 days off didnt do too much harm. On the way the wind was blowing a gale accross the flat wastelands of South Oxfordshire and it felt like it took an age to get home. Thursday was more of the same.

Today has been a bit of a write off after a work leaving party so I have spent the day acting as a groom while my girlfriend jumped her horse. Not hugely productive but the brownie points will come in handy nex time i want to go to Wales for the weekend!

I plan to make ammends for all the lazyness tomorrow with a 5 hour road ride with a few chaps from the Witney Grupetto. Hopefully that will help with some stamina and possibly remind my legs what exercise feels like!
